I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. I appreciated getting the PPT along with the instruction booklet. The instructor was open to all questions and obtained any answers that he could not immediately address.

At the beginning of this class, my question was, I need to know what my rights are as a supervisor. Well, I know what they are now. I call this a development class because it makes my job responsibility so much better.

Great instructor, she made course understandable. The class had great breakdowns of each topic.

I really appreciated the grounding in AI's terminology and evolution, and the focus on the utility of AI for Federal employees. The instructor providing real-time examples using AI to develop products was exactly what I needed. The AI Fundamentals for Government Employees course was a perfect place for me to start a series of AI for Feds courses. I'm looking forward to the other courses!

I had a great experience with the class. This class went more in-depth with FWS pay setting and helped expand my knowledge of the material for the future. I feel more comfortable with the FWS pay setting now. Ms. T was very knowledgeable about FWS Pay Setting and very knowledgeable about pay processes with other pay systems. She is amazing, and I'm glad I got to have her for an instructor. She kept the class engaged the whole time. She asked if we had any questions and made sure we understood the materials.

Overall, I was very pleased with the opportunity to attend this class and meet and engage with new faces and new backgrounds. It made the content feel very alive throughout the days, and we all had some important perspectives to share with one another. This course helped me gain some confidence in my day-to-day HR responsibilities, as well as helped me prepare for the responsibilities that may come as I advance in my career.

To say Ms. Thurston is phenomenal is an understatement—she is a whole force of nature! If a 10-star option existed, she’d deserve every single one, plus a little lagniappe on top. Ms. T has an unmatched mastery of the Federal Wage System (FWS) and representative rate comparisons. Rather than just reading the rules, she masterfully unpacks the why and the intent behind them. Her unique gift of breaking down complex mathematical formulas and heavy CFR language so that it suddenly 'clicks' for everyone in the room is nothing short of brilliant. She is hands-down the gold standard of federal instructors, and I cannot recommend their instruction highly enough!

I recommend this course to any new hire in HR in the federal government.

Great way to get basic knowledge on government travel.

I felt the instructor was very easy to follow, and I appreciate him engaging with us and trying to challenge us through questions. As an employee who is very new to the Civil Service, this class provided adequate information about the basics of HR and gave me a better understanding of the overall scope of how HR works for the Federal Government. It was also interesting to learn about the many different avenues of HR.
