This course equips federal auditors and audit managers with the practical skills needed to manage an audit engagement from start to finish. Working through the full audit lifecycle, you will learn how to apply GAGAS 2024 requirements, plan engagements through risk assessment and materiality determination, and develop detailed audit programs with targeted procedures. The course also covers audit team management, documentation best practices, applying the Plain Writing Act of 2010 to written products, and building well-supported findings using the 5 Cs framework with SMART recommendations. You will complete a capstone project developing a federal audit engagement management plan.
