Mission Statement
The Academic Programs Division of Graduate School USA offers courses, certificates, and degree programs designed to help working adults develop essential competencies for careers in the government, as well as in private business and not-for-profit organizations. Personal development, social responsibility, ethical behavior, and leadership are areas of emphasis.
Knowledgeable instructors effectively integrate state-of-the-art-technologies with challenging coursework and consistently assess outcomes to improve the learning experience. Students enhance their competitiveness by engaging in active learning in the unique setting of the nation’s capital.
APD Departments
APD is composed of three academic departments. Management offers an associate degree and related certificates in Accounting. Health Sciences offers associate degrees in Medical Assistant (MA) and Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), along with certificate programs. The Department of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences offers general education courses that are part of degree programs.
Student Support
All students in the academic programs have access to student support services throughout the program, including:
- Academic Support: Education planning, skill assessment testing, and academic advising.
- Career Services: One-on-one assistance with exploring career options, job search, and employment readiness.
- Disability Services: Language interpreters, Braille, electronic format (large print, Word or PDF), computer-aided real-time translation (CART) services, notetaking services, testing accommodations, and use of assistive technology.
- Veteran and Military Services: Resources for all your veteran education benefit needs.
