First-Time College Student - High School Graduate
- Attendance at mandatory Information Session
- Completed application with Essay
- Two letters of recommendation from current or former employer/supervisor and/or teacher.
- Official high school transcripts
- Academic Requirements:
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 GPA (on 4.0 scale)
-and-
- Combined SAT score of 910 or higher on critical reading and math in the last three years or overall ACT score of 19 or higher in the last three years.
-and-
- Score of "B" or higher in high school Biology (or similar life science course) within three years prior to application.
First-Time College Student - GED Recipient
- Attendance at mandatory Information Session
- Completed application with essay
- Two letters of recommendation from current or former employer/supervisor and/or teacher.
- GED with official transcripts
- Academic Requirements:
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 GPA (on 4.0 scale)

- Combined SAT score of 910 or higher on critical reading and math in the last three years or overall ACT score of 19 or higher in the last three years.

- Score of 510 or higher on Science portion of the GED in the last three years.
Those candidates not meeting the minimum academic requirements or have not taken the SAT, ACT and/or high school Biology can be considered for "Conditional" admission. Candidates can be considered for "Conditional" admission after they:
- Take the ACCUPLACER® assessment test: must place into Math 099 and English 100 or higher
- Take the Science Assessment Test: must place into Integrated Science or higher
- Submit an additional letter of recommendation
- Personal Interview
Transfer/Non-First Time College Student
- Attendance at mandatory Information Session
- Completed application with Essay
- Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 GPA (on 4.0 scale)
- Two letters of recommendation from current or former employer/supervisor and/or teacher/professor.
Students who have successfully passed college-level English and algebra will be exempt from taking the corresponding ACCUPLACER® assessment test. Students who have successfully passed a college-level science course will be exempt from taking science assessment exam. Those who have not passed college-level English, algebra and/or science course will be evaluated similarly to the First-Time College Student - High School Graduate/GED. Candidates not meeting the minimum requirements can be considered for Provisional admission as indicated above.
International Students
First-Time College Student - F1 Visa Status
- Attendance at mandatory Information Session
- Completed Application with Essay
- Two letters of recommendation from current or former employer/supervisor and/or teacher
- High School Graduate (or equivalent) with official transcripts or certified documents. All transcripts and other applicable documents of all academic work completed outside of the United States must be evaluated by a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES) or the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. A comprehensive course-by-course evaluation is required.

- Minimum GPA of 2.5 GPA (on 4.0 scale)

- Combined SAT score of 910 or higher on critical reading and math in the last three years or overall ACT score of 19 or higher in the last three years.

- English Proficiency:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Scores must be sent to the Graduate School directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The Graduate School code is 6825.
- Internet-based (iBT) exam:
- Minimum score of 80; and
- Individual scores in reading and listening of 19 or higher, and speaking and writing of 21 or above.
- Paper-base (PBT) exam:
- Minimum score of 550; and
- Individual scores in reading and listening of 19 or higher, and speaking and writing of 21 or above.
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Scores must be sent to the Graduate School directly from the testing agency.
Testing of English proficiency is not required for applicants whose native language is English or students attending international or bilingual secondary schools outside the United States for at least three years (grades 10, 11 and 12) where English is the predominant language of instruction.
Transfer/Non-First Time College Student

- Current American Heart Association Basic CPR Certification
- Vaccination Record or Proof of Immunity (MMR, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Chicken Pox, Hepatitis B)
- Medical History and Physical Examination (within 30 days prior of application)
- Tuberculin Skin Test (within 30 days prior of application)
- Drug Testing and Criminal Background Check
- These are time-sensitive and candidates will be explicitly instructed when and where they should be conducted.
