Federal Job Readiness Institute
"This Institute is exactly what's needed at this moment when so many people are seeking government employment." Lily Whiteman, author of How to Land a Top Paying Federal Job: Your Complete Guide and frequent columnist for the Federal Times and Washington Post.
Opportunities abound for federal employment. Jobs associated with Recovery Act activities, new jobs included in the 2010 federal budget and impending retirements create rich employment prospects to those seeking federal employment. To be successful you need to know how to find the right information, how to match your skills with job requirements, how to write a resume that captures your unique attributes, and how to successfully present your skills in an interview.
To help all job seekers, including those new to the federal government and those employees looking to advance in their careers, the Graduate School has developed a series of three-hour workshops to deal with the most important topics. These will be offered over a series of Saturdays during the months of July and August (and repeated if there is demand).
Each workshop session is just three hours long, packed with the information you need and staffed with expert federal professionals. Workshop leaders will share their insights into how to be successful in the job application process. You can select which workshops most address your particular needs or attend all four for the complete picture.
To make these affordable to interested job seekers, workshop sessions are priced at only $59 each and will be held at the Graduate Schools convenient downtown D.C. location at 600 Maryland Avenue, SW (LEnfant Plaza Metro Stop). Sessions are scheduled on Saturday mornings and afternoons.
