The W. Edwards Deming Award is presented annually to a federal government organization or a civilian or uniformed branch of the military, in recognition of an impressive workforce development and training initiative that has measurably improved the organization's performance.

Graduate School USA and W. Edwards Deming — A Winning Combination. Graduate School USA is proud of its affiliation with W. Edwards Deming. Dr. Deming was an instructor and a leader at the School for more than 20 years. The award honors him for his association with the School as a mathematics and statistics instructor and as a curriculum chair. His influence on management and statistical analysis is legendary. Graduate School USA is proud to call him one of our own — that's why we established the Deming Training Award. Like Dr. Deming, Graduate School USA believes that quality is everyone's responsibility. About W. Edwards Deming Considered the father of the Total Quality Management movement, Dr. Deming leaves a body of work that has been described as the third stage of the Industrial Revolution. His teachings engaged all levels of employees in regulating quality control. Unheard of at the time he promoted them, Deming’s theories on quality control sparked the renewal of Japan's economy following World War II and launched the total quality management movement. Dr. Deming trained thousands of people worldwide in his theory and in the technologies of total quality management and statistical process control.
